Der 21-Fenster sollte es ursprünglich werden, aber trotz kalifornischer Abstammung war kaum Substanz vorhanden! This 21 window was the first base car but despite being a californian car it was not worth restoring!

 Diesen 1963ér 23-Fenster kaufte ich aus 2ter Hand im Chiemgau/Bayern! Er war 1965 zum Wohnmobil umfunktioniert worden und verlor dadurch seine Trennwand! I bought this 1963 Samba from the 2nd owner in Bavaria! It had been converted to a camper around 1965 and therefore lost it´s bulkhead!

Die Heimreise! The journey home!

Bereits am nächsten Tag konnte ich Georg B. davon überzeugen, das bessere, wertvollere Fahrzeug zu kaufen und restaurieren zu lassen! The very next day I convinced Georg B. to buy and restore the better and more valuable 23-window and resell the 21-window!

Der Samba war innerhalb weniger Tage zerlegt und alle maroden Bleche entledigt! Das unvermeidliche Sandstrahlen folgte! Within a few days the Samba was completely taken appart and the rot cut out! And straight it went to the blasters!
